History

Being the first of its kind in Turkey, Middle East and North Africa as well as Eurasia, IPSA-METU Summer School for Social Science Research Methods was held in September 2013 at the Middle East Technical University, Ankara. Since then, yearly, METU is hosting worldwide known academicians and international students during this unique event in its region.

The Summer School is being organized by a partnership between the International Political Science Association (IPSA) and the METU Graduate School of Social Sciences. Together with other IPSA Summer Schools in Sao Paolo, Singapore and Stellenbosch METU is sharing a global network which is acting as a leader in social sciences till now and its ties are deepening with continuous work.

The Summer School, for two years, provided a unique opportunity for the graduate students and early professionals studying and researching in social sciences to be trained by the most prominent experts on several research methods. It had pioneered such a vision in the region which will be hopefully pursued in the following years.
